Computing the performance of hydroelectric power plants depends on the accuracy of flow rate measurements. A simulation model, based on the CFD method, will be developed to obtain the velocity profile in the main pipe of a hydroelectric power plant located in Morocco. Simulation results will be used to calculate the total flow rate after the values obtained by an array of ultrasonic sensors that measure flow velocity at different points inside the pipe.
